What The Gold Award Is
The Gold Award is a large project chosen that focuses on an issue in a community or in the world that is important and that a Girl Scout is passionate about.
By conducting research, finding the root cause, forming a team, making and conducting a plan to address the root cause, and working through challenges, girls are able to make a lasting impact in their community and/or worldwide. |
The Impact of My Gold Award
On April 23, 2022, I held an event at my local Nature Center.
Between my YouTube Channel, Website, and this event, I was able to create a major impact in my community and online by helping people realize some of the common aspects of deforestation that people undermine and do not fully recognize. Through the information I presented in all of these formats, I was able to help make a lasting impact by educating people about deforestation so that they have a better understanding about the major causes, effects, and solutions towards deforestation. I was even able to make an impact by helping people in my community and online make better educated decisions on how to lessen their impact on the destruction of trees and solve and prevent deforestation. Most importantly, I made an impact my informing people of where and how to plant trees!

What I learned in earning my Gold Award
After I completed the last part of my Gold Award, I was able to learn how to make proper decisions in how to present information in my community and online in the most engaging way. It has allowed me to learn that I am capable of accomplishing my goals and have the ability to impact people online and around my community. I was even able to step outside of my comfort zone and gain more confidence by informing people and teaching them about this major issue. I now know that I just need to advocate for what I believe in, and work toward accomplishing my goals!
